What are Cub Scouts all about?
At a high level, cub scouts focuses on offering citizenship, character, personal fitness, and leadership for youth in grades K to 5. Our program is meant to help kids learn important life skills, make friends, and HAVE FUN!
Who is the cubmaster of Pack 97?
Chaz Bjernestad - an Eagle Scout, that has been the Cubmaster since 2022. He has 3 children (2 who are in the program and the third who will join next year) and is very passionate about delivering a great program and growing the scouting movement in Norwalk.
What activities does the pack conduct?
There are several types of events:
1) Den meetings - 1x per month with kids in the same grade
2) Pack meetings - 1x per month with all scouts from K-5
How much does it cost?

Council Fee: $150/year (allows the national scout program to operate)

Pack Fee: $100/year (pays for pack meetings, awards, etc)

Uniform: ~$75 for all pieces

Note: Financial assistance is available for families that need; we never want the cost of the program to deter anyone from joining!
When are the meetings?
Den meetings (grade specific)

Lions (K): Second Thursday of the month 6:30-7:30PM

Tigers (1st): First Tuesday of the month 6:30-7:30PM

Wolves (2nd): First Tuesday of the month 7:00-8:00PM

Bears (3rd): First Wednesday of the month 7:45-8:30PM

Webelos (4th): First Wednesday of the month 7:00-7:45PM

Arrow of Light (5th): Second Wednesday of the month 6:30-7:30PM
Pack meetings (all grades):

3rd Tuesday of the month 7-8PM
What happens if I can’t make a meeting?

No problem! Den meetings can be made up at home with a parent or a make-up session can be scheduled with the den leader
Do I have to live in Norwalk?
No, but if you are outside of Norwalk there may be a Cub Scout pack closer to you; we would still love to have you join us
How involved are parents/guardians in the program?

Scouting is a family activity and parent participation is part of the program. Parents/guardians will be a part of each den and pack meeting to help the child learn and develop their skills. We also have parents participate in a committee to share new ideas on fundraising, recruiting, or special events (without an added time commitment).​

Where do I get a uniform?

You can purchase it online or at the Milford scout shop; its a longer trip but I recommend the scout shop so you can try on items and ask the staff any questions
Where are meetings held?
